Topic: Configuration space

Configuration space - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The configuration space of a typical system has the structure of a manifold; for this reason it is also called the configuration manifold.
In short, a configuration space is typically "half" of (see Lagrangian distribution) a phase space that is constructed from a function space.
Configuration spaces are related to braid theory, also, since the condition on a string of not passing through itself is formulated by cutting diagonals out of function spaces.

PCI Configuration Space - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The first 64 bytes of configuration space are standardised; the remainder are available for vendor-defined purposes.
The only standardised part of extended configuration space is the first 4 bytes at 0x100 which are the start of an extended capability list.
Since this entire process is fully automated, the computer user is spared the difficult task of configuring any newly added hardware manually by modifying settings of dip switches on the cards themselves.

 Hilbert Space
Configuration space is the position half of phase space in which the momentum coordinates are left out.
Hilbert space is not a space of simple points, rather it is a space of functions at a higher level of mathematical abstraction.
The angular momentum of a particle relative to a direction in space is incompatible with the angle of rotation of that particle in a plane perpendicular to that direction in space.

Configuration space spinors   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-31)
The space of the configuration space spinors (as opposed to the CH spinor fields) must be essentially identical with the Fock space of fermions and antifermions.
Configuration space gamma matrices are linear superpositions of the fermionic oscillator operators associated with the massless Dirac action defined for H-spinors on the spacetime surface or on its boundary components.
The experience with the string models and p-adic mass calculations suggests strongly that the canonical symmetry algebra of the configuration space isometries extends to a super canonical algebra and that the configuration space gamma matrices are very simply related to the super generators of the super canonical algebra.

Constraint Singularities as Configuration Space Singularities
When the configuration space is also a constraint singularity the different adjoining regions of the configuration space can be expected to sometimes have different possible motions of the moving platform and, therefore, result in distinct modes of operation of the parallel manipulator.
For all configurations with a given tilt angle, the platform centres are along a ray from the origin and at half the tilt angle from the vertical axis.
The configuration with the platform face down (horizontal) and at the base centre, and the single singular leg is in the base plane (a configurations where both the platform and the chain have 5 DOF), is adjacent to all four regions.

Configuration space must be endowed with a metric and spinor structure.
The closest analog is the Super Space of Wheeler defined as the space of all possible 3-metrics.
A second analog is the space of the closed loops in some imbedding space: this space is closely related to the quantization of the closed string models.

For example, the electrons used by Clinton Davisson and Lester Germer in 1927, accelerated by 54 volts, had a wave length of 0.167 nm, which was long enough to exhibit a single diffraction side lobe when reflecting from the face of a nickel crystal with atomic spacing of 0.215 nm.
With a larger vacuum chamber, it would seem relatively easy to increase the angular resolution from around a radian to a milliradian and see quantum diffraction from the periodic patterns of integrated circuit computer memory.
The position of a point particle is defined with respect to an arbitrary fixed point in space, which is sometimes called the origin, O.

Principle of the Ariadne's Clew Algorithm
The length l of the trajectories considered may be too short to reach all the accessible regions of the configuration space.
Without bouncing, the mapping of a corridor in the configuration space to the trajectory space is a set of very few points.
The resultant mapping of the corridor in the trajectory space is consequently a much larger set of points, and therefore it is much easier to find a member of this set.

Configuration 2b is recovered in a similar fashion to that of 2a except that to reduce turnaround delays, jet engines and the JP fuel supply are integrated into the vehicle.
Configuration 3b is similar to 3a, except that it is sized for a 100,000 lb payload and has a slightly higher staging velocity.
Although this configuration addresses the needs of traditional spacelift, it was not optimized to perform the tourism mission and thus received a lower score than the configurations specifically targeted to address them.

Modeling the Aggregate Structure of Configuration Space
These directions in space are no less natural and inevitable than those which build a three dimensional continuity, except for the critical feature that each single direction contributing to four dimensional space probabilistically constructs the lateral component of its surrounding conditions relative to itself.
In essence, each linear direction in four dimensional space constitutes a unique space-time bubble, and since each observer invariably surrounds a linear path in the four dimensional matrix, the lateral component is composed relative to each observer.
Applying the model of configuration space proposed in previous articles, each linear path inevitably begins confined by grouping order in a state denotable as positive or negative, and in escaping is probabilistically directed toward becoming neutral.

How much uncompressed configuration space will I need in my enhanced configuration device for the configuration scheme ...   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-31)
The total size of your uncompressed configuration space needed for your enhanced configuration device depends on the configuration scheme and the size of the configuration files.
The total size of the enhanced configuration device uncompressed configuration space is the size of the largest device configuration file multiplied by the number of devices that are concurrently configured.
For example, if you concurrently configure three devices in 4-bit passive serial mode, the total size of the enhanced configuration device uncompressed configuration space is the size of the largest device configuration file multiplied by 4.

Coming up with research priorities for the international space station was the charter of a special panel of independent experts convened earlier this year called the Research Maximization and Prioritization Task Force (Remap).
NASA hopes to finalize the research priorities for the international space station by the end of the year so that decisions on the outpost’s configuration can be reflected in the agency’s 2004 budget request.
The report also drew criticism for its suggestion that the space station in its currently planned conjuration not be considered a science program.

As Jenkins (2002, 2004) proposes, contested spaces are a basic feature in videogames; every different spatial configuration involves a different contest and challenge to advance in it or to ‘beat’ it.
These configurations are dependent on the hardware of the computer, so that the larger the processing power, the more elaborate the configuration of the space is.
In early videogames the player could not go back in space once it had passed the left limit of the screen (Super Mario); in others the space advances so that the player has to keep up with it, which is a feature of most shoot-‘em-up such as Gradius.

The real line and configuration space
The nonrelativistic version of quantum mechanics exists, not in physical space, but in an abstract higher dimensional structure known as configuration space where there is a single time dimension and a separate set of spatial dimensions for every particle.
The connection between configuration space and physical space is through a probability distribution which gives the probability that a given configuration of particles will be observed.
What exactly we do have is not clear since the actualization of probabilities in configuration space to events in physical space is not part of any existing scientific theory.

I submit that certain configurations of three dimensional spaces are naturally interconnected, forming a four dimensional matrix, which we from our internal location refer to as time or space-time.

OSR's ntdev List: RE: How is PCI Configuration space mapped??
The PCI configuration space of a device from the perspective of a device is not in *any* address space.
How the IDSEL for a slot is activated (in other words, how a "configuration cycle is initiated") varies based on the system board chip set, but almost certainly the configuration spaces are *not* memory mapped or I/O mapped.
When you stuff your desired config space address into the address port, and then read/write on the data port, the OS may have also simultaneously (on a different processor for example) stuffed it's desired address into the address port.
