		Many Congregational churches trace their descent from the original Congregational Church, a family of Protestant denominations formed on a theory of union published by the theologian Robert Browne in 1592 and arising from the Nonconformist religious movement in England during the Puritan reformation.
		In 1977, most congregations of the Congregational Union of Australia merged with most of the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia to form the Uniting Church in Australia.
		In 1925, the United Church of Canada was founded by the merger of the Canadian Congregationalist and Methodist churches, and two-thirds of the congregations of the Presbyterian Church of Canada (or in French, Église Presbyterienne du Canada).

	Epsom Congregational Church
		The history of the Congregational Church given here come from some of his sources, one "Two Hundred Years of Congregationalism in the Town of Epsom" was given as an address for the special anniversary at the site of the first meeting house on Sunday, Aug. 20, 1961.

		The Orwell Congregational Church, built in 1842 by Frederick Bostwick and Fobes, is one of the finest examples of the Greek Revival style in Vermont.
