 Atlantic Canada Conservation Data Centre - botany program
The role of the AC CDC's Botany Program is to compile and disseminate the most current information available on vascular plants and bryophytes (mosses, liverworts and hornworts) in Atlantic Canada, with an emphasis on those species that are provincially rare.
This is done by filling in a ranking matrix, which is standard across the international network of conservation data centres, and factoring in each criterion to come up with an S-rank.
AC CDC Botany Program field efforts have been very extensive and successful in the last three years, producing many hundreds of new records for rare species and more than 20 new provincial records in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
