This website is dedicated to advancing the viewpoints and positions of the many conservative Democrats who, quite frankly, in my opinion, have been misrepresented and, at times, seems all but forgotten in the political battles that are waged daily throughout this country.
Democrats represent a diversity of people, and, as I see it, represent the true voices of liberty.  But Republicans have been very successful in portraying all democrats as “far left liberals." And nothing could be further from the truth.
Being a Conservative Democratic means that while I support the general ideals of the Democratic Party, on certain issues my viewpoint may veer slightly right or left of the party platform.

Conservatives hate hearing this, but back in the 1800's, Republicans were more Liberal and Democrats were more Conservative.
A conservative democrat would be someone who is for the enviroment and social programs because they believe they are very important issues and the right thing to do.
But they would also have a strong love for their country and understand that the defense of it is the most important issue and without it there would be no environmental and social programs.

We've got so-called "conservative" Republicans trying to scrap 200+ years of Senate tradition by creating a special rule to do away with judicial filibusters (and saying that the Democrats are the ones who are trying to break a precedent by keeping the filibuster).
The conservative ideology, if it may be so termed, follows governmental theories that rose to prominence during the Enlightenment and which drove both the American Revolution and the subsequent drafting and ratification of the Constitution of the United States.
This outline of what is happening in the Republican party (and within the ranks of traditional conservatives, not necessarily the same as the Republican party) will serve as the context for later blog entries here, explaining why traditional conservatives should at this point be aligned with the Democratic party rather than with the Republicans.

Even odder is that despite the venue in which he gave his speech, he remains a member of the Democratic Party.
And merely two years ago, Miller voted yes on a bill that would include "sexual orientation" in a list of hate crimes the federal government is allowed to "help" the individual states prosecute (even if the crime committed was not a federal offense).
