Georgetown University is a member of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area.
The other member institutions are American University, Catholic University, Gallaudet University, George Mason University, George Washington University, Howard University, Marymount University, National Defense University, Southeastern University, Trinity College, the University of the District of Columbia, and the University of Maryland at College Park.
Although the primary purpose of the Consortium is the improvement of graduate education in the District of Columbia, undergraduate students are also eligible to participate according to the regulations listed below.

-- The Consortium of Universities will have a seat in the MayorÂ’s Emergency Operations Center and a seat in the DC Police Department Command Center if there is an incident of any kind.
As such, the District of Columbia is providing the University with an 800-megahertz radio base station, a pre-programmed fax machine, and a satellite telephone to communicate with the DCEMA and all the consortium universities.
