BoDD (Botanical Dermatology Database) - CONVALLARIACEAE
This is a family currently comprising about 200 species in 24 genera of rhizomatous herbs found in northern temperate regions, tropical Asia, and Australia (Mabberley 1997).
Members of the Convallariaceae, at one time considered to represent a distinct family, were for a while moved into the Liliaceae but have recently been re-established as a distinct family.
A number are cultivated as ornamentals, for example members of the genera Clintonia Raf., Convallaria L., Ophiopogon Ker-Gawler, and Polygonatum Miller.

July 6th, 2004, 02:39 PM Convallariaceae is now Ruscaceae
In Plant Systematics (2002), Convallariaceae, Nolinaceae and Dracaenaceae are all included in Ruscaceae as suggested by Chase (1995,1996,2000), Rudall et al.
As stated “the monophyly of this family is supported by DNA sequences along with the lack of phytomelan in their seeds”.

Sunshine Farm and Gardens: Glick Pick Archives: Disporopsis pernyii
Anyway, I'm gonna try and get back on the stick, whatever that means, and let you know about some of the cool plants that are popping up around here, so welcome back to the "GPOW", a somewhat less verbose, but still enlightening version, perhaps.
This "GPOW", Disporopsis pernyii, is a very easy to grow plant in the, well already we're gonna get into some controversy here, Liliaceae or Convallariaceae family depending on who you talk to.
I've been growing it since 1992, when Elizabeth Strangman of Washfield Nursery in Kent England gave me two plants.
