On May 20, 1929, the aviation divisions of the Peruvian army and navy were merged into the Peruvian Aviation Corps (CAP, Cuerpo de Aviación del Peru).
Peru is one of the four Latin America whom have a large population segment consisting of unmixed indigenous peoples.

The twelveth edition of the South American Championship was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from November 1 to November 17, 1929.
The 1928 edition was postponed due to the participation of Chile, Uruguay and Argentina in the 1928 Summer Olympics held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where Uruguay and Argentina won gold and silver respectively.
This tournament is called Copa América since 1975.
