Copacabana is a district located in the southern zone of the city Rio de Janeiro, famous for its 4 km beach.
After Copacabana there is the small beach of Arpoador, followed by the famous borough of Ipanema and then, the borough of Leblon.
The hills that rise behind Copacabana and Ipanema are luxurious and green and the beaches are wide and seem drawn from a fairy tale with islands dotted around the harbour.

Their in-flight magazine claims that when they started in the 1920s "Bolivia had no roads" - a rather bizzare statement that also ignores the fact that it did have quite a respectable rail network until quite recently.
You might think that a poor place like Bolivia would melt down its old bits of train and turn them into concrete reinforcing rods (used here as a universal construction material), but it seems that they are happy to park them in the desert and let them rust.

Even the Pope has traveled to Bolivia to bless this statue (the ceremony was held in La Paz because Copacabana is just too small to handle the crowd that came to see the Pope).
