The year, 1994, was an exceptional season for Bucks, who tied for the Copeland Trophy (best Collingwood player), along with skipper Gavin Brown.
Following on from that, 1997 was another good season for Bucks, who finished runner up in the Copeland to Gavin Brown, and played his 100th game, in which he collected 43 possessions.
Buckley has won a record 6 Copeland Trophies at Collingwood, and has made it into the All-Australian team many times, including once as Captain.

Yetton Trophy: Cumbria IBC’s ladies were also in winning vein last week in the Yetton Trophy, beating Copeland IBC by 77 shots.
The Carlisle four had home advantage but this was a good Copeland four and the victors are to be congratulated on winning so well, 28-12, in their first appearance in the national fours.
The selectors’ faith in the young guns was repaid when the Liberty Trophy came back to Carlisle in 1992 and with their outdoor counterparts adopting similarly tactics there were five Middleton final appearances in the next ten years.

Copeland’s best result was at Carlisle, where Maureen Eccles did well until the closing stages before losing 28-19 to Mary Ferguson.
The Senior Triples at Copeland, where Alan McGuinness met Bill Adam, was not so tight with the Carlisle trio of Eddie McGarr, Ray Park and Adam leading all the way for a comfortable 21-shot win.

St Bees finished a commendable fourth in the larger village section and won the Copeland Trophy.
St Bees has been successful on many more occasions and as winners of the Champions League, village section, were invited, once again to go forward to the Britain in Bloom finals of 2002, achieving a silver award.
St Bees Parish Council and Copeland Borough Council have been financially supportive in the past, enabling the committee to buy the thousands of plug plants, compost and all other necessities required to make the village attractive.

The award is given to the top-ranked team going into the National Debate Tournament held March 24-27 in Kansas City, Mo. Teams from 78 colleges and universities competed in the tournament.
The district representatives and executive council of the National Debate Tournament members voted for whom they believe is the best team in the nation after the regular season, Bellus said.
It was the first time UI debaters have won the award, which represents the success of the team, Bellus said.
