That is the hint we have of the movement of Coriantumr in verse 15.
Now that Coriantumr has blunted the most devasting aspect of his army, that of the devastation of the local populations (accomplished by moving the local populations away from danger, as in verse 15), Shiz is no longer as feared.

And it came to pass that the army of Coriantumr did pitch their tents by the hill Ramah; and it was that same hill where my father Mormon did hide up the records unto the Lord, which were sacred.
And it came to pass that on the morrow they did go again to battle, and great and terrible was that day; nevertheless, they conquered not, and when the night came again they did rend the air with their cries, and their howlings, and their mournings, for the loss of the slain of their people.

There were only two survivors: Coriantumr, the king of the Jaredites; and Ether, the prophet-recorder who had presented to Coriantumr the options of either repenting so that he and his family would retain the land, or, should he not repent, all of his people would be killed except him.
To illustrate the implausibility of Ether’s prophecy that Coriantumr should be the only survivor of his civilization, we learn from the record that Coriantumr should have died numerous times from wounds and a loss of blood if not from infection (Ether 13:31; 14:12, 30; 15:9).
Coriantumr and Shared later fought again; before Coriantumr finally killed Shared, the record states: “Shared wounded Coriantumr in his thigh, that he did not go to battle again for the space of two years” (Ether 13:31).

Ether had prophesied to Coriantumr that his people would be spared if he would repent, but if he would not, they should be destroyed, and all his household save it were himself (Ether 13:21).
Coriantumr had forgotten the prophecy of Ether that he would survive to witness the destruction of all his people (Ether 13:21).
That he survived such a severe injury would be surprising if it weren’t for the promise of Ether that he would live to witness the fulfillment of the word of the Lord (Ether 13:21).
