 History
The Corinthian League was started in 1945 with 8 clubs, who, having competed on equal terms with Isthmian and Athenian League sides during the war, did not wish to return to the inferior London or Spartan Leagues.
Following the amalgamation of the Corinthian League with the Delphian League, Epsom were elected to Division One of the Athenian League for 1963-64 and finished bottom of the table with only 9 points from 26 games, conceding 104 goals.
The club never rose from the foot of the Athenian League, and a meeting was held in February to decide if the club should continue, they were not re-elected to the Athenian League at the end of the season.

The third century BCE became a century of confederacies, including the Ionian League; the Boetian League, dominated by Thebes; the Aetolian League, which had a strong primary assembly for the entire confederacy and involved three arenas: cities, tribal districts, and the confederacy as a whole; in effect, a federal constitution.
The league then expanded for a while, but by the end of the decade Aratus had reached the limits of his powers and the league had failed to absorb either Athens or Sparta.
The Achaean League was governed by a primary assembly of all male citizens over the age of thirty, which met to deal with major constitutional issues, and an elected council of several hundred, which met regularly and elected the magistrates.

The League which started first in 1976 are open to all the top clubs in Cork and this year attracted a record entry of eighty teams and over 25 clubs.
Corinthian Boys were in impressive form in their section of the league and came through unbeaten recording fine victories over Blarney Utd, Maymount Celtic, Casement Celtic and Wilton United amoung others.
Corinthian Boys coached by John Turner, Stephen Murphy and Andy Goodwin were in superb form and came through their section of the league with a 100% recording impressive victories over the likes of Greenwood, Cobh Ramblers, Wilton etc before defeated Rockmount in the semi final.

Edgware Town continued in membership of the Corinthian League until it was merged with the Athenian and Delphian Leagues at the end of the l962~3 season.
Edgware remained in the Athenian League until it was absorbed into the Isthmian League at the end of the 1983-84 season.

 Aldershot Town Junior Soccer Centre FC - 2000/01 Season
Corinthian were not going to let the league leaders get away that easily and were soon closing Aldershot down very quickly and not allowing them to play their usual free flowing football.
Aldershot were slow to get into their stride and this also gave confidence to Corinthian who battled away in midfield and were restricting the Aldershot forwards to half chances.
Although Aldershot were creating chances they could not put the finishing touches to their game in front of goal and as the game progressed Corinthian were becoming the stronger team towards the end.

Corinthian Boys retained their 100% league record with a hard fought 2 - 0 away victory over Kilreen Celtic, while Douglas Corinthians despite suffering their first defeat of the League campaign going down 3 - 2 away to Greenwood, they still finished runners up in their section.
In the 7 a-side league Corinthian boys have won their section and are through to the semi final, while Douglas Corinthians still hold a 100% record.

 Club History
The first season in Division One was very successful with the team finishing in 7th place in the League, reaching the 1st Round proper of the F.A. Trophy and the Final of the AC Delco Cup in its inaugural year - losing 3-1 to Sutton United, the Premier Division Champions.
The 1994/95 season was another "bits and pieces" season with a mid-table league position being achieved by the first team (the most notable results being the "double over runners up Worthing) and a disappointing season being had in the various Cup competitions.
Their league form, particularly away from home, was very impressive and with some notable victories being achieved in some of the Cup competitions, the season was very satisfactory.

It was the second match played there and the opponents were the powerful Corinthian League side Eastbourne Town, in the FA Cup.
Lancing showed their concern at the departure from the County League of so many top clubs when, in March, they called a meeting in Brighton to propose the formation of a County Superleague, an idea that is still revived from time to time.
League always had an attraction for Sussex clubs, the moribund Hove Club had a couple of seasons in it (receiving a national mention for having the smallest Supporters Club in the country, four!) just before this period, while Crawley and Eastbourne United were later members.

Apart from two seasons (1929-31) in the London League, the Deres remained in the Kent League until the war.
In a league featuring many semi-professional and nursery sides, third place in 1928-29 was their highest finish, but greater success came in cups.
Along with Slough and Maidenhead, the Deres remained in the Corinthian League throughout its existence, and in 1963 they joined Division 1 of the Athenian League on its expansion to three divisions.

During his period of service he signed for Eastbourne in the Corinthian League, playing several times for them, he was also on the Spurs books as an amateur in 1952 but strangely he did not play one game in their colours.
These two Kent League players should be the answer to our prayers to strengthen up the forward line, which, as you have all stated in no uncertain fashion, is long overdue.

As the successful London League side broke up, the club's fortunes suffered and this period was to be largely devoid of success.
Their best league finish was 6th in 1953/54, but they did reach the League Cup Final in 1955/56, only to be beaten by Maidstone United.
Those clubs that had remained in the London League were openly hostile to those that had left, and were very much initially against accepting the club back.

Edgware were the last winners of the Corinthian League Memorial Shield for at the end of the 1962-63 season the Corinthian League was absorbed into the Athenian League.
The shield was then presented to the Athenian League cup winners until 1969 when it was presented to that competition's runners-up.
Capitain Colin Barker, a tremendous inspiration to his less experienced colleagues, was presented with the Shield by Mr C.F. Chip, Vice-Chairman of the Corinthian League.

Grays helped to form the Corinthian League in 1946 and won both the League and Memorial Shield and were Essex Thameside Trophy winters in 1948.
Grays won the League Cup with a 3-1 defeat of Enfield in 1991/92.
The introduction of a reserve team brought further success in the shape of the Capital League title (which had not been won by a team outside of the Conference for 17 years) and runners up honours in the league cup.

 TilburyFC
Formed in January 1900, they joined the Grays and District League in 1901/2 and were immediately Champions, a feat they repeated in each of the next 4 season.
Returning to action in 1919/20, in the South Essex League, Tilbury were immediately successful, winning successive Championships and, in 1924/5, the Essex Junior Cup for the second time.
Apart from a League Cup Final appearance in 1955/6, it was an unsuccessful 7 year stay before, in 1957/8, they rejoined the London League.

Ted rebuilt the team and their first season in the Isthmian League turned out to be a very successful culminating in the FA Umbro Trophy Final at Wembley, against GM Conference side Woking.
They won the Isthmian League championship in 1981/82 and this season was their best as the club won the Essex Senior Cup, London Senior Cup and the Isthmian League's Hitachi Cup (League Cup).
They won the Isthmian League again in 1988/89 when, despite there being promotion to the Alliance Premier League (Conference), they were denied this due to ground problems.

In 1963/64 the Corinthian League became Division One of the Athenian League, and Worthing were promoted at the end of that season, as runners-up to Leatherhead.
The side was left with a lot of ground to make up in the League, but finished strongly to take the runners-up spot behind Lewes, who had replaced Bognor as the Rebels’ arch rivals.
