Corky Romano is the sort of film that thinks it’s hilarious to offer one closeted gay Romano brother and another who’s illiterate.
(Corky’s not the gay one, though he seems like the most likely party.) This is the kind of film that thinks it’s hilarious to show Kattan as he gets electric shocks via conductors attached to his nipples.
Corky Romano offered an annoying hyperactive and witless “comedy” that inspired almost no amusement or interest, at least not from me. The DVD provided watchable but surprisingly flawed picture quality along with adequate sound and a minor roster of extras.

The Popkorn Junkie :: Corky Romano
"Corky Romano" is a terrible film, but it never was a skit--this is an original from some gentleman locked up in the SNL attic somewhere (hopefully not Al Franken).
Peter Berg and Chris Penn co-star as Corky's brothers, Berg being jealous and illiterate and Penn being perpetually angry.
The only humorous moment in the film is when Corky is dressed up like a girl scout--but, those laughs are based solely on the job by the costume designer and make-up artists--not the actors and certainly not the director.

Corky Romano (2001) - A Review by David Nusair
Wacky hijinks ensue once Corky has infiltrated the Feds and slowly convinces everyone that he is a top agent.
This isn't to say there aren't any funny moments - there are a few throwaway gags that are chuckle-worthy (when Corky goes undercover as a neo-Nazi, he sports a tattoo that shows a menorah with a cross through it), but the majority of the jokes are obvious and crude.
Corky Romano isn't as bad as some other comedies as of late (yes Freddy Got Fingered, I am looking in your direction), but it's certainly not as good as the recently-released Zoolander.

Corky is surrounded by people stupider than he is, which is instant death for a movie about how stupid someone is. Also as played by Kattan, Corky is hyperactive and annoying, not frantic and sweet, as the movie thinks he is. Does Kattan have what it takes to carry a movie?
Using Corky Romano as my sole piece of evidence, I would say no. He seems, at least here, the type who will do anything for a laugh, even if it means doing the same thing over and over and over.
