Being from the United States the word "corn" means a specific type of vegetable to me. Much of the rest of the world considers "corn" to be another word for "grain".
I have seen beautiful corn dollies made from wheat and other grains, however to me, "corn dolly" will always means a doll made from cornhusks.
Corn is the most common grain grown in my area, and the type I find most appropriate for my rituals.
