Cornelius (born Keigo Oyamada (小山田圭吾) January 27, 1969 in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese recording artist and producer.
Oyamada's first claim to fame was as a member of the pop duo, Flipper's Guitar, one of the key groups of the Tokyo Shibuya-kei scene.
Oyamada married fellow musician and collaborator Takako Minekawa in 2000 and they have one child, Milo, named after the son of Cornelius in Planet Of The Apes.

His first album, "Fantasma," was released in the US on Matador and gained him a lot of notoriety in the indie world for its intense blending of all the best points of American rock with all the best points of Japanese pop.
Cornelius himself says he approached the album, "like a fifth grader, all cut and paste." That was over four years ago, and this year's album "Point" proves to be a much less schizophrenic and more mature, restrained record.
Cornelius seems to be as much of an expert on the guitar as he is on the computer.
