Gilbert Foumier, a veteran French archaeological diver who found in 1998 the wreck of an unidentified vessel off Palawan, has said "there are a lot of incredible treasures to be discovered" in Philippine waters.
Exquisite treasures of gold, porcelain, jars and military armaments were retrieved from the wreck and have been displayed in several exhibitions around the world.
