Corona Freeway segment is in purple, the Temecula Valley Freeway segment is in green, and the Escondido Freeway segment is in orange.
The name "Corona Freeway" is, confusingly, sometimes applied to the Riverside County portion of State Route 71, which runs parallel to I-15 approximately 7 miles to the west.
This is because the original definition for the Corona Freeway stated that it was "Routes 71, 91, and 15 from Route 10 West of Pomona to Route 215".

The City of Corona is located approximately 45 miles southeast of Los Angeles in western Riverside County.
By 1982 Corona's agricultural industry faced a bleak future as "production costs made the economics of farming only fair or poor." Plans were begun to replace the groves with approximately 12,500 dwelling units.
The plant produced citric acid, lemon oil, lemon juice and pectin which helped Corona gain the nickname "Lemon Capital of the world." As housing developments began to overtake the Southern California citrus orchards, Sunkist found that the lack of a local supply was forcing them to move.

 The Orange Empire of Southern California
In the early 1960's, the Riverside Freeway (state route 91) sliced through Corona connecting the city with its larger neighbor to the northeast (Riverside) as well as to the burgeoning coast due west.
In the mid 1980's, Corona's General Plan was amended to remove development restrictions upon the enormous citrus groves within the city's southern end.
In the late 1980s, Interstate 15 was completed through town, thereby connecting Corona to neighbors both north and south: Ontario and Temecula respectively as well as completing a direct link to greater San Diego.

I headed for the 91/55 freeway interchange and then East on the 91 freeway to Corona.
The tell tale sign of a roll to the right never occurred, though, so I continued to apply cyclic input to settle the speed to a somewhat constant.
