| | How Shall I Know the Kingdom (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06) |
 | | Jesus preached that the "Kingdom of God was at hand." The proclamation of Kingdom, coupled with his followers declaring him mashiach, Anointed, would have seemed to the Romans to be a claim at kingship, and thus sedition and treason against Rome. |
 | | Jesus never actually describes what the Kingdom of God is, but he describes what the kingdom of God is like, and his teaching helps us to understand what the import of that message is. In his Sermon of Sermons, the Sermon on the Mount, we learn something of the inhabitants of the kingdom. |
 | | The citizens of the Kingdom are not the rich and the powerful, but the lowly, the meek, the merciful, the pure, the peacemakers. |
