The Corus Chess Tournament 2008 will be held from 11-27 January 2008 in Wijk aan Zee.
The tournament venue is the De Moriaan Community Centre (Dorpsduinen 4, 1949 EG Wijk aan Zee) and the nearby bar de Zon.
There are four amateur events during the Corus Chess Tournament, that are open for all players: Weekend-three-round events (11-13 January), Weekday-three-round-events (14-16 January), Nine-round events (18-27 January) and the Rapid Tournament (19-20 January).

The Corus chess tournament takes place every year, usually in January, in a small town called Wijk aan Zee, part of the larger Beverwijkin the province of North Holland in the Netherlands.
It was called the Hoogovens tournament before the Dutch steel and aluminium producer Koninklijke Hoogovens merged with British Steel to form the Corus Group on 6 October 1999.
Viswanathan Anand is the only player to have won five titles of the Corus chess tournament (he won one of these titles when it was called the Hoogovens tournament) in its long history.

Vishwanathan Anand won the 65th Corus Grandmasters chess tournament in Wijk Ann Zee (the Netherlands) after settling for a quick draw against Evegeny Bareev in the 13th and final round on Sunday.
The 31-year-old superstar annexed his third Corus title tallying 8.5 points from 13 rounds, pipping the likes of Braingames champion Vladimir Kramnik of Russia and world champion Ruslan Ponomariov of Ukraine.

World champion Vishwanathan Anand settled for a draw with Grandmaster Vassily Ivanchuk of Ukraine in the sixth round to remain in joint lead in the 65th Corus Chess tournament in Wijk Aan Zee, the Netherlands, on Sunday.
