  Corvus (weapon) Information
A corvus (meaning "raven" in Latin) was a Roman military boarding device used in naval warfare during the First Punic War against Carthage.
The engine was probably used in the prow of the ship, where a system of pulleys and a pole allowed the bridge to be raised and lowered.
It is not mentioned in period sources after the battle of Ecnomus and apparently the battle of the Aegates Islands that decided the first Punic war was won without them; however an evolution of the corvus, called arpax, was used in the battle of Naulochus.

The detonation of a nuclear weapon is accompanied by a blast of neutron radiation.
Hypothetical antimatter weapons, which would use matter-antimatter reactions, would not technically be nuclear weapons (as they would not be using energy derived from either nuclear fission or fusion), but bear noting due to a possibly higher potential energy by weight than conventional or nuclear explosives.
Nuclear weapons have been at the heart of many national and international political disputes, and have played a major part in popular culture since their dramatic public debut in the 1940s, and have usually symbolized the ultimate ability of mankind to utilize the strength of nature for destruction.

This means that a weapon with a mass of 9 wielded by a character with a strength of 3 has a practical minbrev, instead of the base crochet.
For every three points difference between a character’s skill with a weapon and the level of Aerae in the weapon, note length is changed by one level and one point is subtracted (or added) to the potential damage.

Hotz ArtWorks: Roman Seas Naval Myths
Light and medium ballistae were used regularly on Roman warships, whereas heavy ballistae were probably not used due to the weight of the weapon and also because of the excessive weight of its ammunition.
Myth Number 6: Romans always preferred using Corvus (Raven) which was a ramp like device that was placed in the bow of their larger Quinquereme ships -- the ramps was dropped onto to an opponent's ship deck allowing the Roman marines to storm across for close quarter combat.
Corvus works very well, but it is also a very heavy device that could not be easily jettisoned once it has been mounted onto a warship.

Corvus has a lot of moves in his repertoire, and most of them are useful, but altogether he moves a little sluggishly compared with your typical first-person action hero, especially while sidestepping.

What follows is a mathematical breakdown of weapons, and their special rule modifiers, to arrive at an abstract number, Firepower Potential, that can be easily compared to 4 standard weapons: the Gatling Blaster, Laser Blaster, Turbo-Laser Destructor, and Vulcan Mega-Bolter, all of which had the same Firepower Potential of 6.
Any weapons that did not come within 1 point (Firepower Potential between 5.00 and 7.00) were modified in a way to bring their numbers closer to 6 while maintaining the flavor and diversity of the weapons.

My thought would be to do away with things like "volume" and make a weapon sheet SOLELY based on its elemental properties.
The attribute required to weild a weapon would be it's highest attribute, and that could also determine it's "note length".
People just learning might be limited to just part of a scale, and masters might be able to "switch keys" from one style to another, with the requisite visible stance change.

No proposed extra (be they Corvus heads, weapon heads, banners, etc) are going to offer anything different to what weapons can add, so why add the option when all it means is it reduces the 'choice' element (and lets not forget, thats the central concept to this game), because you dont need to make one.

However, the fact that each weapon has both a "normal" and a "powered up" state with varying degrees of damage inflicted and the inclusion of magical spells and defense capabilities does temper that gripe somewhat.

The Corvus Armour was used for many centuries prior to the Heresy, and it has left its mark on the Imperial Annals.
The weapon systems, though refined, changed little from the Mk I. Only the Ultramarines ever made use of the Mk II, and it was due to their isolated location during the Heresy that they were the last legion to be equipped with the superior Mk III.
