The Sunday Times' main film critic Cosmo Landesman has never been to the Cannes Film Festival or the BAFTAS and thanks God that he has managed to escape the back-slapping luvvie part of the film business.
Of course, having an opinion is what Cosmo gets paid for, and to those not in the know, it seems like the cushiest of numbers, getting paid to see films and say if you like them or not.
Though Cosmo says he sometimes sees films twice - once, the way a punter would and the second time, with his notepad - he positively bristles with something approaching disgust when I ask if he ever goes to the flicks just for fun.

The criminals in the film are one-dimensional and as Eddie Holt pointed out is his recent column, fl hats and white hats worked in many the western, so obviously Joel Schumacher reckoned they would work in this instance too.
