PHILOSOPHICAL INFLUENCES ON COSMOLOGY   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
Theology, on the other hand, is a methodology for interpreting biblical text (scriptures as linguistic data) and primarily concerns itself with the significance of events.
This then is the principal thesis to be developed here: the conflicts between theology and science on the subject of cosmology are generally rooted in either opposing philosophical views or philosophical confusions between the data and their interpretation.
It is proposed that theology and science are both tainted with their own unstated philosophical presuppositions (either unwittingly or deceptively by the theologian and scientist) thus affecting their various interpretations of cosmology.

"The Serpent Power and the New Adam" af Johannes Aagaard - Dialogcentret.dk
Theology is open to such scientific attempts in cosmology, but theology is not only descriptive.
Theology as a whole deals with the future as a 'virtual reality' which is „in becoming“, and theology is an attempt to give guidance to and norms for not only the present but also from the future of God as the Truth who „was and is and becomes“.
The theologically sound cosmology can use some element from Occult, syncretistic cosmology, as it is proved by the Bible itself, but the obvious use of such elements from syncretistic movements has to be countered by clear-cut theological guidelines, whereby the centre is marked off from the periphery.

 PolyTheology: Developing Neopagan Theology
Theology is not the mere quoting of scripture to tell you the word of god, although that may be what some fundamentalists do.
Theology is defined monotheistically as "the field of study, thought, and analysis concerning the nature of God, His attributes, and His relations to the universe and humans in particular." More broadly it is the study of divine things or religious truth, usually a specific form or system as expounded by a particular religion or denomination.
A second related sub-category, cosmology, the order or organization of the world or universe, explains why or how things seem to work the way they do and/or how they fit together, and, of course, where humans fit in.
