		The Cotillion or French dances were a French Folk or Square dance done in the early eighteenth century, and is claimed by to have been in vogue before the Quadrilles.
		The Cotillion was originated in the West Indies in the early 1700s but was refined in France in the 1750's and thus essentially became a French dance, finally arriving in England in the 1760s (via the French).
		The Cotillion became popular during the reign of Charles X of France (1757-1836), and was very common in England and Scotland at the end of the prior and the beginning twentieth Century.
