OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 28) -- Council Hill recently received $83,430 in grants from a new program that partners federal and state funds, Rep. M.C. Leist and Sen. Ben Robinson announced Friday.
Records indicate the money will be used to resurface 3.2 miles of streets with 2-inch thick layer of asphalt.
Leist, D-Morris, said the Legislature created the REAP in 1996 to help finance infrastructure improvements in communities with a population of 7,000 or less, particularly areas with 1,500 or fewer residents.

Originally, Oklahoma’s state constitution merely required compulsory attendance of children “between the ages of eight and sixteen years, for at least three months in the year.” In 1919 the legislature extended the age range to 8-18, and in 1949 lowered the age from 8 to 7 (while also extending the attendance requirement to 180 days).
Oklahoma currently has no counselors certified to treat gambling disorders, though the state is beginning the process of providing counselors.
