Counsellors from all the major counselling bodies within the UK are co-operating to offer free counselling to people in receipt of income support or minimum income guarantee.
Counsellors in private practice may charge anything between £20 to £60 per session, but it’s true to say that most of them have at least one, and sometimes several, un-booked sessions each week when they could provide free counselling for clients who are unable to meet their fees.
Before they can be entered on the register counsellors have to submit verifiable details of the level of their training, the name of the university or college where they trained, and the dates their courses commenced and ended.
