HRH Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, visited the Colne Valley Regional Park on Tuesday 18 October 2005 to unveil a sculpture of a heron (the park's emblem), funded by Grundon Waste Management, in order to commemorate the 40th Anniversary.
The Royal visit took place around the Colne Valley Visitor centre in Denham Country Park in the heart of the Colne Valley Regional Park, which covers 43 square miles, stretching from Rickmansworth in the north to Staines in the south and across from Uxbridge and Heathrow to Slough.
Bruce Allen, Chairman of the Colne Valley Regional Park and County Councillor for Buckinghamshire County Council said: "the Council has always tried to play a major role in the Partnership and we are proud to have been associated with the park throughout its 40 years.
