	CountryLink - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		CountryLink is the name given to the train and coach services that runs throughout regional areas in the state of New South Wales (NSW), Australia.
		CountryLink is a business unit of the Rail Corporation New South Wales, an agency of the Government of New South Wales.
		Countrylink is currently undergoing a $32 million refurbishment of its fleet with the first of the new-look power cars and carriages already in service.

		By replacing Countrylink rail services with coach services by no means encourages greater use of existing rail infrastructure, but rather places rail in a further state of decline which will eventually result in the total failure of the system.
		Due to the vast distances covered by Countrylink it would not be realistic to expect a 100% of seats to be occupied for the entire journey as the further out you travel the less the population.
		Countrylink must keep overheads within an affordable range to be able to be competitive with other modes of transport.

		A requirement in the CountryLink program is that the successful tenderer will be able to step in and provide reservation capabilities if there is a breakdown between CountryLink and Onerail, the provider of its new reservation system.
		CountryLink is, in effect, seeking a technology partner that can help mitigate any risks associated with that separate project which will replace the existing Travellink reservation system with an online system called Orion.

		A one-way Sydney to Melbourne CountryLink trip starts at $115.50 and takes almost 11 hours, compared with Jetstar's $90 one-way fares or Virgin Blue's fares, which were as low as $39 on the internet last night.
		Rural and regional communities have been fighting to save their CountryLink services, some of which face the same fate as the Casino to Murwillumbah line.
		Mr Regan, from Newcastle, said poor promotion of CountryLink services, a negative perception of reliability, and bad timetables were to blame for the drop in patronage.

	Bathurst railway station, New South Wales - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The station is served by CountryLink trains for its Western Region, and is also the most westerly point of the ticketed CityRail network, being served by a regional bus route that connects to CityRail's Blue Mountains Line.

		A major Countrylink overhaul that cuts 100 jobs and raises rail fares has drawn widespread criticism.
		Pensioners also will be expected to pay a minimum of $10 or a 15 per cent booking fee when using one of their four annual travel vouchers funded by the government.
		He said CountryLink was losing about $150 million a year and the overhaul would reduce losses by tens of millions of dollars.
