In August, she began competing for the Coupe Femina for 1911, which she did not win.
On 22 December 1911, she opened a flying school in France reserved for women, which apparently failed due to lack of students.

The Coupe Ernest Archdeacon for the first flight over 25 m (82 ft), and a cash prize of 1,500 francs for the first flight over 100 m (328 ft) were both won by Santos-Dumont in 1906.
In July of that year, she competed in the Prix des Dames at the 1910 Rheims Week, but was seriously injured in a bad crash.
However, she recovered to win the French Aero Club's Coupe Femina twice for long-distance flights in 1912 and 1913.

March - The Baronness Raymonde de Laroche of France obtained from the Aero Club of France the first license issued to a woman anywhere in the world.
Laroche went on to compete in racing and endurance contests and she won the Coupe Femina in 1913.
April - Belgium's first licensed woman pilot, Helene Dutrieu, made her first flight, which lasted 20 minutes.

The former record was held by Henry Weyman, the American, who, on September 17th, in an unsuccessful attempt for the Michelin prize, made a non-stop passenger run of 136.62 miles.
Helen Dutrie, who increased the woman's cross-country record from 65 to 167 kilos (104.70 miles) will be awarded the coupe Femina.
Laurens won the Deper Dussen cup today by flying 100 kilometers (62.1 miles) in 76 minutes.

The Cotati Accordion Festival was held on August 26th and 27th in Cotati, California and included a Jam Tent, workshops, Cajun Dance Party, Polka Dance Party and a variety of concerts.
Guest performers included 70 year old Dick Contino, who performed a popular program including Quando Quando, Sentimental Journey, Let me call you Sweetheart, Beer Barrel Polka, Spanish Eyes, Flight of the Bumblebee, Mall Femina, Bamba Boogie and (of course) Lady of Spain.
Two of Mickey's students Joseph Natoli and Anthony Rolando each won the AAA United States Open Virtuoso Competition and represented the United States in the Coupe Mondiale Competition, gaining second and third placings.
