Coupling (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Coupling is a sitcom written by Steven Moffat, produced by Hartswood Films for the BBC, that debuted on BBC2 in May 2000, and ended in 2004.
The series began airing on PBS stations and on BBC America in the United States in late 2002 and quickly gained a devoted American fanbase as well.
Many fans of the series were angered that Jeff was no longer in the fourth series and Richard Mylan has said in interview that it took him a long time for people to accept his character[1].

Usually in the UK the first series is for 6 shows, then if it works they tend to want more for the subsequent series.
The lengths of the various Coupling series depended on how long Steven would have to write them, therefore the first series was 6, the second 9, the third 7 and we are now in negotiation with the BBC for a fourth series of probably 6.

Renold Clutches and Couplings, of Cardiff, have helped to solve a last minute technical problem that occurred during the filming of a boat restoration project for the Discovery TV documentary series Boat Yard.
One of the boats, a 1930s clinker fishing boat, Tern, was being restored and converted to run on electric power, but a suitable coupling could not be found to connect the new Lynch electric motor to the propeller shaft.
Fortunately, BSL Brammer's local depot had the coupling in stock and was able to despatch it immediately avoiding any delay in filming.

The series' sexual themes are universal, but the details are often quite British, as in "The Cupboard of Patrick's Love," wherein the three male leads fantasize about the frequent screen nudity of the likes of Helen Mirren, Jenny Agutter, and Britt Ekland.
British TV prides itself on the prominence of the writer-auteur, in this case Stephan Moffat, who pens all the episodes and receives top billing.
But the most ingenious bits in Coupling revolve around simple phrases like "giggle loop," "sock gap," and "nudity buffer," the definition and discussion of which create an atmosphere more reminiscent of Seinfeld than of Friends.

The mature intelligence of the series is its greatest asset, from the tenuous respect between Galactica's militarily principled commander Adama (Olmos) and politically astute, cancer-stricken colonial President Roslin (Mary McDonnell) to the barely suppressed passion between ace Viper pilot "Apollo" (a.k.a.
