  Cradle of Fear
It should be quite obvious from the synopsis that each story in "Cradle of Fear" is simply the re-hashing on an old E.C. Comics type story -- the kind that was already old when "Creepshow" debuted some twenty years ago.
The promising aspect of "Cradle of Fear" is that writer/director Alex Chandon has used the simple, predictable stories (one gets the feeling that Chandon knows how old-hat the plots are) as a springboard to create a raw and violent spectacle of a movie, the likes of which we haven't seen in a long time.
While "Cradle of Fear" is an impressive outing, it's not exactly the ass-kicking thrill-ride that it could have been.

True, there are times when the film feels a bit like an advertisement for Dani Filth's band "Cradle of Filth" (but only in his scenes), but that's hardly avoidable seeing as how he was very likely the "star power" that helped this flick get made in the first place.

Cradle of Fear, the simply put title for this bloodbath of macabre horror, is a B-movie constructed by director Alex Chandon (whom also directed From the Cradle to Enslave, [Cradle of Filth's first promotional music video.] Pervirella, Bad Karma..etc.) and a well constructed B-movie it is.

Cradle of Fear Movie Review - BLOODY-DISGUSTING.COM
Unless you are a hardcore Cradle of Filth fan or a dedicated splatter aficionado, this little flick (not in length but in public awareness) may have slid under your radar.
I can’t say that Cradle was highly original (feeling like a cross between Tales from the Darkside the movie and some supernatural crime thriller), but for what it had, it did the best it could with it.
There were great performances by most of the cast, of course there were a few duds (the boss in the 4th story) but most of them were bit parts anyway, the camera was frantic and never boring, the music was pumping, and dialog seldom made me cringe(which is a big thing with movies like this).

Alex Chandon, the enfant terrible of British independent film-making, has scored a definite bullseye with his latest feature, the gory, violent and hugely entertaining anthology Cradle of Fear.
The anthology structure (a tip o’the hat to the old Amicus films) means that Cradle of Fear doesn’t drag, despite being two hours long.
The BBFC being what it is, Alex initially distributed the film from his website in an ‘unrated director’s cut’ although it is now available in shops.
