Whilst the fans in the stadium were fairly subdued, the same could not be said of the Accrington Stanley manager who furiously contested every decision and even provoked the usually calm Craig Brown to stand up and confront him, leading to Craig getting a (rare!) ovation from the Preston fans.
A record crowd had been at the ground the previous evening for a match between Accrington Stanley and Burnley but it was highly unlikely a similar number would be in attendance tonight.
