Craig joined Kidderminster in 1998 after an impressive trial period at Aggborough following his release by Birmingham City at the end of the 1997/98 season.
Craig began his career as right back before reverting to a centre-half role halfway through last season.
Craig, who signed a two-year full time deal with the club in July 2000, was honoured with a place in non-league's Middlesex Wanderers International Representative Squad that toured India in the Summer of 2000.

In practice this means that the majority of the novel consists of two factions (one of which is hidden in a parasitical station bootstrapped onto the Bucephalus) sitting down at their respective control panels sending various computer programmes at each other while waffling a lot of technobabble about time spillages.
The characters are distinct and recognisable, though the plots they play out are — as Hinton cheekily admits — pure soap-opera: three of them are ex-lovers; one is father to one of the other characters without knowing it; two characters are revealed as brothers half-way through the novel; all of them are hiding secrets.
Hinton also explains that this susceptibility to strong minds makes him unable to be trusted and that he will confine himself until he can overcome this.

Despite Hinton's reputation for writing continuity heavy stories (he allegedly coined the infamous term "fanwank"), he reigns in these tendencies for 'Excelis Decays' and provides a dark, brooding finale to the trilogy which works extremely well.
Hinton tries to circumnavigate the problem by having the Doctor talk to the TARDIS, which is perfectly in character but still fails to entirely convince, with lines such as "Not the most pleasing of locations, concrete and smog" sounding very contrived.
Hinton paints a nightmarish picture of an oppressive totalitarian regime with a strict structure, the people divided into the ruling Inner Party, the subordinate Outer Party, and the oppressed Proles, who are regularly given the drug Treasure to keep them docile and obedient.

The Blues front pair of Antony Aylett and Craig Prout were always a threat to the Canvey defence, and after a dissecting pass into the path of Prout from midfielder, Troy Mainstone, Prout drew the keeper off his line and curled his shot into the goal for 2-1 after 55 minutes.
Billericay then had the bit between their teeth, looking for a third, which came in a way of a penalty, when on 44 minutes Craig Prout was put clean through on to goal from a lovely, well placed pass from defender Wayne Semanshi only for Prout to be brought down inside the box.

Craig Hinton attempts to achieve the impossible by writing a decent sequel to one of the most unloved 'Doctor Who' TV stories of all time ('The Time Monster') and, for the most part, he succeeds.
The book has come in for criticism on newsgroup rec.arts.drwho for having an overabundance of continuity references to past stories, including ones from TV and other novels, but I think this is a bit unfair.
This book is the first Doctor Who one that Craig Hinton has written in a considerable time.
