Leipold expects his payroll to start the season will be around $26 million and eventually jump to around $28.6 million, the midpoint of the NHL's new salary cap.
Leipold feels he can afford to spend more money under the NHL's revenue-sharing plan, which the owner said should mean $7 million to $8 million for the Predators after the season, assuming Nashville does not go above the $28.6 million midpoint.
