CRAIG SMITH was today at the centre of a probe by Edinburgh Rugby into whether he was the victim of deliberate foul play during Friday’s 46-13 win over Borders at Murrayfield.
Mathieson, 23, was due to hold talks today with the Gunners about a possible move, manager Ian Rankin confirmed.
The expected acquisition of Mathieson follows the release of South African-reared Gavin Whittingham last month and it is no surprise that in looking to fill that void they have turned to a player in their own European Cup back-up squad.
