Craigentinny Marbles - a mausoleum in Craigentinny Crescent
Miller died in 1848 at Craigentinny, at the age of 60, without heirs, having set aside £20,000 of his £300,000 fortune for his funeral expenses.
The Mausoleum is popularly known as 'The Craigentinny Marbles', after the large bas relief panels, carved by Alfred Gatley.

The Craigentinny Marbles is the name normally applied to the huge mausoleum structure with ornate marble sculptures depicting Biblical scenes which stands strangely amidst the suburban houses of Craigentinny Crescent, just off Portobello Road in Edinburgh.
He was known as 'Measure Miller' from his habit of carrying around a ruler to measure the exact size of copies of books before deciding if it would enhance his collection.
Miller died in 1848, at the age of 60, after a short illness at his estate at Craigentinny.

The hat trick celebrations were sparked on Wednesday night by A 5-4 defeat at Craigentinny, a result that delivered the title with 4 points to spare over Parkside who finished with a 5-4 win at Pilrig.
The champions record of 12 wins from 14 games left arch rivals Pilrig and Craigentinny trailing in their wake and it was surprise packages Parkside and Queensberry who kept the title race interesting.

Craigentinny Community Education Centre is located on the north east side of the city and serves the communities of Lochend, Restalrig and Craigentinny.
It is housed partly in Craigentinny Castle (built in 1604) and partly in a modern wing.
The accommodation in the castle is on three floors and includes a medium sized hall, lounge, kitchen and offices and the newer part consists of two offices, a large hall and general-purpose rooms.

Craigentinny School Project – King Arthurs Castle 2002 - 03.
The construction of King Arthur’s Ruined Castle at Craigentinny Primary School, Edinburgh was built thanks to the help gained from Raynesway Construction.
On the basis of it's popularity the artist was then commissioned to build a sculptural Christmas tree for exhibition in the plaza.

Craigentinny House is a large 16th Century mansion located on Loaning Road in the district of Restalrig, some 2 miles (3 km) east of Princes Street (Edinburgh).
However, he died at Craigentinny, and was buried on the estate, marked by what is now referred to as the 'Craigentinny Marbles'.
The house was acquired by the City Corporation and it became an early example of a Community Centre in 1937.

CRAIGENTINNY have the Edinburgh Cup title firmly in their sights after delivering a crushing 10-2 points blow to defending champions Parkside in the weekend's semi-final action of the bowls event, sponsored by Specsavers Opticians.
It comes in the shape of the inaugural champions, Pilrig, who were also in great form to beat Wardie 10-2.
Parkside managed to strike an away blow against Craigentinny with Bob Donaldson skipping Graham Fraser, Lawrence Healey and Derek Smith from 12-7 down to a 19-13 win over Andrew Jeffrey.

A residential district of Edinburgh, Craigentinny lies 2½ miles (4 km) east of the city centre, between Restalrig and the Firth of Forth.
The district developed on the estates of 17th Century Craigentinny House which was once owned by the eccentric politician William Miller (1789 - 1848).
Craigentinny House still exists to the west, on Loaning Road, amongst the public housing of Restalrig.

The 16th Century Craigentinny House survives on the north side of Loaning Road, despite being hit by a German bomb during World War II.
Further along Loaning Road, a public housing block was destroyed by bombs from the same aeroplane and the different style of the in-filled replacement remains evident today.

The Abbeyhill Loop in Edinburgh was a short section of the Edinburgh suburban line which branched away from the East Coast Main Line at the eastern end of the Calton Tunnels and ran for a couple of miles before rejoining the main line at Craigentinny Junction.
The only part of the line in use now is the section between Powderhall and Craigentinny which is traversed by the Edinburgh 'binliner'.
Some of the original formation was used to ease the curve of the ECML past Craigentinny carriage sidings when the line was electrified in 1991.
