Cranbourne has trains every 30 minutes, and this is partially due to the large amount of single track.
Cranbourne has alot of housing development, IIRC it was(still is?) the fastest growing suburban in melb, too bad mostly aren't growing along rail line or too far from rail line.
The frequency of trains to Cranbourne is severely limited at the outer end by the single line and towards the city by capacity issues from Caulfield in.

The report by strategic manager Liam Hodgetts, presented to councillors on September 22, was based on numbers collected by Cranbourne Transit drivers submitted at the end of each shift.
Their daily summaries have shown average passengers per service, based on eight services a day on weekdays and six a day on the weekends, is just 1.1 people.

Surely for Cranbourne Transit to alter their bus timetables to integrate better and be co-ordinated with train services would be much cheaper than adding more car parking.
Either way something has to be done, as people are coming up with some odd places to park their cars, and I don't think even more car parking is the answer.
The new directive must come from there, and as we have discussed in another thread city of Casey is almost unique in actively campaigining for improvements to public transport funding and provision.
