Crawley was the son of an Ottawa accountant, Arthur A. Crawley and grew up to be an accountant himself.
In 1939 they formed Crawley Films and by the late 1940s the Ottawa-based company was one of a number of small Canadian companies making newsreels and sponsored films for business.
Budge Crawley's acceptance speech was memorable: "Thank you very much for this American award for a Canadian film about a Japanese adventurer who skied down a mountain in Nepal." In 1980, Budge Crawley was given the Order of Canada.

The Government is forcing local authorities to consider the future of their Council housing stocks.   Crawley has over 8,000 Council homes which is one of the largest stocks in the south-east.
Crawley Borough Council can either keep these homes itself or transfer them to a registered social landlord.  Conservatives have no issue with looking at options for effective social housing delivery.  However we object to being told that there is a choice and then being presented with loaded dice.
One way to reduce crime is to increase the probability of being caught and to have a more substantial and re-assuring presence on the streets.

Crawley was an African-American vaudevillian, songwriter and clarinetist who was quite popular throughout the 1920s and 1930s.

The 1851 Census Index for Husbourne Crawley can be found in the 1851 Index to Census of Bedfordshire, Volume 5, Book 1 available from the Bedfordshire Family History Society.
In the 18th century the property was owned and lived in by the GRANBOROUGH family, William and Francis Granborough and their son William.
