Creatures of Light and Darkness was named after an experience Jackie had as a child visiting a local pit.
Stepping from the darkness to the light is certainly something he can relate to and is a perfect title for this beautiful and very personal album.
"Creatures of Light and Darkness" is truly a work of inspired class with the various influences combined to a record of rare scope and beauty.

 Hurricane Helper
The idea here is to combine the control aspects of Water, Light, and Darkness to keep a horde of weenies afloat long enough to hose down your opponent with Hydro Hurricane, then dunk them for the win.
I’ve got a decent stable of cheap creatures here--plenty of Lights and Darks costing only 1 or 2 mana--so you should be able to fill up your field easily, and many can block if it becomes necessary.
Balance out the Lights and Darks on your field, according to the biggest threats you’re facing, and what will cripple your opponent the most (hitting his mana and/or his creatures) then break out Hydro Hurricane and wash away your opponent’s field.

Both of these cards are excellent, but somewhat fragile, creatures, and doubling their attack while they’re aggressors in battle is a great way to make sure you can get the most out of their effects.
Considering the fact that Light and Darkness have at their fingertips some of the best one and two-cost creatures in the game, this card’s potential is very impressive.

Creatures of Light and Darkness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Creatures of Light and Darkness is a science fiction novel by Roger Zelazny published in 1968, as well as a roman à clef about the Social Security Administration at Woodlawn, Maryland, where Zelazny worked.
Creatures of Light and Darkness was originally conceived and written as nothing more than a writing exercise in perspective by Roger Zelazny, yet when published turned into one of Zelazny's more popular books.
The central characters of this novel are some of the main Egyptian Gods (Zelazny specialized in sweeping stories based on mythology of all kinds).

Projects - Reviews - Creatures of Light/and Darkness
Creatures of Light and Darkness is a book hard to classify, easy to become entranced by.
It tells of the struggle of new Gods to dispose of the old, of Fallen Angels after revolution and millenia of mismanagement, of strife and struggle in the Middle Worlds, caught in the tides between The House of Life and The House of the Death.
It is Zelazny at his very best, when he follows his demon Inspiration all the way it leads him, blending mythology of a thousand years ago with worlds thousands of years hence.

 Roger Zelazny
One of the most influential writers of science fiction's New Wave era, author Roger Zelazny is best known for such works as Creatures of Light and Darkness (1969), Lord of Light (1967), Damnation Alley (translated to film in 1977), and his series Amber Chronicles.
One clear influence Zelazny had acquired over the interim was his grasp of the mythology of various traditions.
His Hugo-winning Lord of Light (1967) drew on the Hindu pantheon and the precepts of Buddhism, Creatures of Light and Darkness (1969) featured Egyptian gods and goddesses, while his ten Amber books reflected Arthurian legend along with elements from Tarot and Irish folklore.
