  Creed Essay
Creed started out as a pure hard rock band at a time where all the rock bands that were coming out were using special effects and digitized sounds to cover up for their weak music and their weak songwriting.
Creed does not encourage its fans to accept their beliefs as they are, but rather encourages them to seek the truth.
Creed's music has obviously tapped into the hearts of millions of fans inspiring them and encouraging them to feel more than just pleasure through entertainment, but to think and question their own beliefs.

This Florida-based band went from zero to sixty, (or, more accurately, from zero to selling more than twenty million albums) by virtue of a combination of finger-on-the-pulse songs and powerful live performances.
Creed was the first band in history to have four #1 Rock Radio singles from a debut album.
The band also decided to invite Kirk Kelsey, their longtime live sound engineer, to co-produce the new material.

 Creed Biography
Creed is a modern rock band of grassroots troubadours that performs highly inspirational music with a message, within the lines of a simple and unaffected genre called "new-era" rock.
Creed uses its website not only to promote songs, concerts, and albums, but for mutual correspondence between its fans and the band members.
Regardless, Creed persisted in projecting a positive image as was evidenced in July of 1999 when the band performed in Rome, New York, at Woodstock `99,a reprise festival of the original festival by the same name.

 Are You Ready?
Few bands experience the massive success Creed has, and even fewer bands are able to rocket to the top in such a short time.
Creed’s new sound may have seemed to echo many of the fallen alternative bands of the early 1990’s, but offered a new concept.
Creed quickly became known as band which wasn’t afraid of grappling with difficult issues, such as spirituality, betrayal, and prejudice to name a few.

The band, who are known for their Christian lyrics, apologised to concert-goers for any disappointment caused in a message posted on their website.
On the band's website, Stapp says many people label them as a religious band because of their spiritual lyrics but he denies they are a Christian band.

 Creed Bio on CreedFeed
Creed's sophomore effort, Human Clay, debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts and has gone on to sell more than 10 Million copies.
The band's third release, Weathered, also debuted at #1, selling more copies in its first week than any other rock release in 2001, and tying the record for the longest run at the top following a #1 debut.
For Weathered, Creed once again turned to longtime friend and producer John Kurzweg to ensure that they captured the anthemic guitars, dramatic vocals and bold lyrics that have made the band's brawny-yet-intimate sound a radio staple for several years.

Creed breaks from its own prison
The very instrument which captivated and enthralled audience members all night turned out to be Creed's own prison, as guitarist Mark Tremonti could do nothing but strum idly along as his instrument dangled over his shoulder, made mute by a lost connection and, later, a broken string during the band's grand finale.
Instead, the concert indicated that the band's high energy and Stapp's impenetrable voice are rawer than their records would indicate.
Creed has lots of them, and as it prepared to cover the Doors' "Riders On The Storm," the band welcomed Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, who played on the cover as well as the following song, "What's This Life For?", which ended the band's regular set.

 Creed <creedunofficial>
Creed, althought disbanded, will always be know as one of the best hard rock band and a very insprational band to others.
For many years, Creed collaborated with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) by allowing many of their songs to be played for promotions (such as a song being the soundtrack for a pay per view).
Despite the band's continual dismissals of the label, Creed is sometimes labeled Christian rock due to the fact that earlier albums focus on questions of faith, Christianity, and eternity.

Creed - Weathered Review - sputnikmusic
Even the make-up of the band had gotten tense: now down to just three members after the unceremonious departure of Brian Marshall, supposedly kicked out of the group for badmouthing Pearl Jam, Mark Tremonti was forced to handle bass duties as well as guitar.
It was cited that he was spending time with his own band, but Creed were moneymakers par excellence for whatever criticism they incurred and there was no way a bassist for an independent group would have turned down a chance to join--unless he was warned away, either by a person, or just downright bad behavior.
Creed's critics have been saying as much for a whole decade, and the circumstances around the breakup solidified for many the hatred of Scott Stapp, the most visible face of the hated band.

StarPolish Current Issues: Intelligent Dialogue From Music Industry Professionals and Artists
A new band that hasn’t recorded before, or done a record, usually doesn’t have quite the studio chops yet and doesn’t understand exactly how the process goes, so it can be really alien to them.
The hard part as a producer is persuading a band to try the song the way you are hearing it, like “What if we shorten that bridge,” or “What if this part here was three times instead of four?” Bands can be very attached to their ideas; the song is their baby.
A lot of bands are used to playing the songs live and aren’t thinking about the subtleties that can make it interesting to get it from one section of the song to another.

A young upstart band named Creed dominated rock radio all year long with strong melodies, heavy guitar hooks, a powerhouse rhythm section, and a fiery lead singer named Scott Stapp.
However, what is truly "weathering" is the shocking lack of growth this band has undergone musically in the 3 years they have been in the eye of the mainstream.
Tremonti really needs to find a new tuning to play in, otherwise this band is never going to grow or truly mature.
