BBC - Radio 2 - Sold On Song - Song Library - Creep
But they failed to capitalise on the song's success and for a while looked like becoming one hit wonders before bouncing back with the superlative album The Bends.
Indeed, the song's finest moment, the massive guitar crunch which ushers in the chorus, arose partly as a result of Jonny Greenwood's dissatisfaction.
But, for many, Creep remains one of the defining songs of British rock in the early '90s and an example of Radiohead's strengths before they went all weird on us.

Creep (song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
When they were first running through their songs for producers Sean Slade and Paul Q Kolderie one of the band described Creep as "our Scott Walker song" and they misunderstood and initially dismissed it, thinking it was a cover version.
After mid 1998 they did not play the song live at all until the final encore of their hometown concert at South Park in Headington in Oxford in 2001, when they played it in a seemingly impromptu decision after an equipment failure on the keyboard near the start of Motion Picture Soundtrack.
The song is similar to the 1974 song "The Air That I Breathe" by The Hollies.

Radiohead - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The recording sessions were relaxed, with the band playing at all hours of the day, recording songs in different rooms, and blasting DJ Shadow, Ennio Morricone and the Beatles' "I Am the Walrus" through the house for inspiration.
The more notable is the second, which has songs that could be described as a bridge between the progressive alternative rock of OK Computer and their subsequent more atmospheric work.
Conceived as complementary but distinct sequences of songs, the two albums are similar in style and influence, a connection made explicit in the selection of different versions of the song "Morning Bell" appearing on both records.

 radiohead song interpretations
creep is a song about a girl who is so perfect for that man in every way except that she doesnt love him.
creep is a great attempt to put in words what no writer can truly express: the mixture between happiness and heartbreak; happiness simply at the sight of that girl, and heartbreak at the sight of her with someone else.
Creep appears in the movie as our young hero tries to comprehend the idiocy of an event that has turned him into a national hero, a symbol of frustration, when he knows he is just a victim of circumstance. The undue publicity and idolisation is frightening and he questions it's validity.

 Radiohead - Creep
The song has been released in a few versions: the original contains the word "fucking"; radio edit (on which the F-word is replaced by "very") appears on several compilations and is a bonus track on the American version of Pablo Honey.
They wrote My Iron Lung purposely about their hatred of the song, but it was not until the recent hit of Paranoid Android that the band start to see some mass recognition of other songs.
Bizarrely, the original words to the song had a line : "shoulder of lamb, frying in a pan", and reportedly, Jonny's now-famous guitar 'scratchings' were his way of showing frustration which was otherwise a boring, quiet song.

 "Creep" by Radiohead
The song that nearly broke the band apart, Creep was released twice as a single in the UK and was a pretty major hit, but not as much as in America, where Radiohead were known for "that Creep song".
You used to hear this song on the radio all of the time, and this song is still being played frequently.
One noticeable part of this song is actually the approach of the chorus with a very sporadic buzzing electric guitar that stings in out of nowhere.

The song has been analyzed by many people, and theories of what it's about range from Thom's terrifying childhood to Thom's deceasd wife.
Written while he was at Exeter, he says, it tells the tale of a drunken student who tries to get attention of a woman he's attracted to; in the end, he lacks the self-confidence to pull it off.
"Creep" was the first single from the British rock band Radiohead and a track on their debut album Pablo Honey.

Creep is definitely about little ol' me. I'm the creep because I hate everyone acting so fucking special all the time and I totally agree with Thom Yorke's view of our chaotic world in which people are either paranoid, lost, or creepy.
Creep is more about a man who follows this girl around, because he sees something in her that he thinks is just so wonderful, that he falls in love with her at first site-this is the only TRUE interpretation because Thom Yorke states this in an interview and he wrote this song from personal experience.

 Creep chord progression
I call it the "creep" because the chords creep up gradually until you arrive at a stable chord, then the song goes elsewhere.
But most songs are like many modest houses -- they have 2 or 3 rooms, sometimes 4 -- built using 2 or 3 or 4 different chord progressions.
If it is the first phrase of the song, it would be called the "theme" of the song, or "Section A" of a song.

 Beck Song Information - Creep
When Beck and the Flaming Lips played this song, I think it's pretty easy to see the connection between Beck/"Loser," the Flaming Lips/"She Don't Use Jelly," and Radiohead/"Creep." All have been held up to unreasonable pressure due to their big hits, but also all have proven themselves since their initial fame.
The story is that after "Loser," Beck mentioned how he's not like some bands who don't play their big hits, though he could understand their point of view.
Going back to the song's connection with "Loser" (the "one-hit wonder" status, the self-depreciation, etc.), on August 18 2003, Beck was playing his long electric guitar freak-out version of "Loser." Near the end of it, he started rapping the chorus to "Creep" in a similar cadence to the "Loser" verses.

The band plays more of its new album, and debuts its new acoustic format for some songs, which is not well received by some of the audience.
Every chord sheds another tear as the song builds slowly to an anticlimax of "hey yeah yeah yeah hey yeah yeah yeah...you know you're right" followed by a classic Cobain guitar solo.
This song alone is proof of the positive, more mellow direction Kurt planned to take the band into before his death.
