	Creepshow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Stephen King's Creepshow is a 1982 anthology horror movie directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King.
		They are tied together by animated segments and the plight of a young boy (played by Stephen King's own son, Joe King) who is a dedicated fan of a fictitious comic book titled "Creepshow" Which his stern and even borderline abusive father disapproves of.
		The film is a homage to the EC Comics of the 1950s such as "Tales from the Crypt", "The Vault of Horror" and "The Haunt of Fear".

		This film, directed by George Romero from a screenplay by Stephen King, represents a conscious effort on both men’s parts to translate the E.C. horror comics they read in their youth to celluloid as directly and completely as possible.
		Creepshow is quite simply the best horror anthology movie I have ever seen, and the only movie George Romero directed during the 1980’s that matches the quality of his classic work from the previous decade.
		Some might complain that Creepshow displays a marked lack of originality, at least in the writing (the same can hardly be said of the direction or production design, both of which were like nothing else on earth in 1982), but it seems to me that to do so misses the point completely.

		The composer, John Harrison (also responsible for the fantastic Day of the Dead soundtrack) was actually employed as the Assistant Director on Creepshow, but stepped in to score the soundtrack when Romero decided that the 1950's library music he was initially going to use wasn't really what he was looking for.

		The film revolves around the fictional comic book, "Creepshow," a concept that would later be borrowed by the HBO series "Tales From the Crypt." In the best story, Holbrook plays an abused husband who feeds his wife (Barbeau) to a monster discovered in a box in the basement where he works.
		In another excellent tale, E.G. Marshall plays an anal-retentive tycoon terrified of germs, who does battle with an army of roaches.
