Crescent Township is a township located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
The township was created in 1855 and was given the name Crescent because it was formed from a portion of Moon Township.
In the township the population is spread out with 23.9% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 31.0% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who are 65 years of age or older.

The founding of what was to become Crescent Township on the Ohio River dates back to 1784-1785, when warrants were recorded for "Fortune", Limerick" and "Strabane" riverfront properties.
Church worship in Crescent started in 1845 in a simple white frame building on High Street that was used by all denominations.
Crescent's first Post Office was established in 1851, and a Civic Club started in 1922.

The "Crescent of Embrace" design for the proposed Flight 93 memorial in rural Pennsylvania has come under fire from the leader of a local fundamentalist Christian sect, claiming the crescent design is a symbol of Islam.
Called “Crescent of Embrace,” the design by Paul Murdoch Associates of Los Angeles centers around a mile-long semicircle of red maples surrounding the point of impact, where 40 passengers and crew were killed when the hijacked plane crashed near Shanksville on Sept. 11, 2001.
Though not accepted by all Muslims, the crescent moon and star is an internationally recognized symbol of Islam.

Crescent Lake is a 35 acre lake located in the headwaters of the Little Meshoppen Creek Watershed, a tributary to the Susquehanna River in Auburn Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
