Crest of the Stars, thankfully, is possibly the least predicable show I've seen in some time, with plot development, pacing, and characters that I just didn't expect.
As Crest of the Stars opens, Martine (a dead ringer for Earth) is surrounded by a massive fleet of starships from the alien race Abh.
Crest of the Stars is the rare series that gives us a complete reversal of our expectations.

Crest of the Stars is not for the impatient.
When the Martine Star System is invaded, the Abh tell the planet's inhabitants that they are not interested in the planet, just the space surrounding it, and that the people can be ruled by one of their own.
Crest of the stars is not for the light-hearted as it is somewhat slow, however its characters are still my time honored favorites.

I tend to see CREST OF THE STARS as a "Galactic Empire Space Opera for Adolescents" and as such found it enjoyable, reminiscent of a lot of the sci-fi for adolescents I read when I was a teenager in the late 1960s.
