How to Build Machine Gun Emplacements
Crew served emplacements can be developed from 1 and 2 man foxholes by adding extra support features.
This type of emplacement gives protection to both gun crews and their weapons whilst in firing position or in adjacent shelter when not firing.
Around the weapons position a trench is dug at about 2 feet wide and about chest height deep in a horseshoe shape.

Infantry crew served weapons provide rapid and flexible direct and indirect fire support to the front-line manoevre units in the battlefield when heavy supporting artillery is not available for immediate response.
Crew served weapons in service with the Bangladesh Army, and Paramilitary Forces include mortars, recoilless guns and rockets, anti-tank guided missiles, and machine guns.
Although they are part of the total fire support system, crew served weapon sections and platoons are not simply small artillery batteries.

 Poor, Bloody Infantry
The cost of Infantry figures carrying a crew-served weapon is the cost of two Infantry frames plus the cost of the weapon.
The e-loader may not fire a secondary weapon, however, as he is too busy monitoring the power generator for dangerous heat levels.
The Infantry frame may not be equipped with Energy or Heat weapons due to its inability to incorporate a fusion power pack.

Barrett XM109 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As with the XM307, the XM109 can be reconfigured back to.50 BMG should the need, nessecity, or export market require it to be done (The XM312 crew served weapon is more or less a.50 BMG version of the XM307 and has some 70%+ parts commonality with the parent system).

 The Parrott Rifle
While it is a muzzleloader, it was a crew served weapon that saw combat during the Civil War.
Cannon crews got extemely excited when open flames were brought around their guns, because of the large amounts of powder needed to fire them.
It was his job to make sure that the proper charges were loaded, that the crew was well drilled, that the cannon was aimed properly, and that the crew and cannon were able to complete the missions that were assigned.

Leaders, Groups, and Conditioning as Psychological Weapons - Dave Grossman, Author
Such weapons have generally done the majority of the killing throughout the history of warfare, beginning with the chariot, which was the earliest crew-served weapon.
As such it was a form of crew-served weapon in which newer members were placed in the front and were thereby under direct observation and accountability by the veteran warriors behind them.
At sea the dynamics of the crew-served weapon have been in play since the beginning of the gunpowder era, i.e., crew-served weapons, distance, and the influence of leaders.

UP FRONT GAME SYSTEM QUESTION BOX
Again these crew served weapons may be functional, malfunctioning, or broken (meaning an unarmed man) when the transfer is made or they are set up.
With the exception of the automatic weapons listed in the previous question more than one crew served weapon may be set up in or transferred to a group.
Note that Rules 45.6 and 50.7 prohibit only those men who carry or crew the specific weapons mentioned in those rules from being crew members to other crew-served weapons.

US Army's New Heavy Machine Gun (Replaces Ma Duce)
The.50 caliber XM312 weapon is derived from the 25mm XM307 weapon Advanced Crew Served Weapon (formerly known as the Objective Crew Served Weapon (OCSW)).
Because it is 100 lbs lighter than other crew served weapons, the XM307 (with ammunition) can be easily dismounted from a vehicle and carried into a ground operation by its two-man crew.
The 25mm XM307 was developed from the 1990s project to produce a 20mm computer controlled shell for an infantry weapon, as well as a heavier crew served weapon (the XM307).

 GD-OTS Advanced Technologies
The 25mm XM307 Advacned Crew Served Weapon (ACSW) System is a next generation infantry weapon incorporating the latest advances in fire control, materials technology and munitions to provide the 21st century warfighter with accurate, long-range, destructive firepower in a compact, self-contained lightweight package.
The Family of 25mm munitions provides decisively violent and suppressive target effects and a leap ahead in crew served weapons performance.
The ACSW is light enough to be carried and employed by a two-man crew; and yet, delivers decisively violent, long-range, high-explosive fire which offers considerable advantages to the warfighter over the current Caliber.50 M2HB heavy machine gun or the 40mm MK-19.

 M60
It was considered a "crew served" weapon with one guy shooting and one guy feeding it.
All the other light infantry arms were referred to as weapons.
The M60 fired 7.62mm rounds linked together into belts with metal clips, that were fed into the gun from the left side.

 IMPROVING TACTICAL VEHICLE COMBAT CAPABILITIES
A crew-served weapon should be included in the tables of organization and equipment for every vehicle in the corps so that units can train with these weapons during every field exercise.
A crew-served weapon should be assigned to every vehicle likely to face enemy contact, which in modern combat with few clearly defined lines could be anywhere.
--Every tactical vehicle should be armed with at least one crew-served weapon.

And if XM312 is adopted in two years, it may cost more than $400 million to eventually replace the roughly 25,000 M2s in the Army, said Pete Errante, deputy product manager for PM Crew Served Weapons.
The innovative weapon is scheduled for fielding in 2010 and is slated to be the primary support weapon for the Army’s Future Combat Systems.
The XM312 is nine times more accurate than the M2 because of its “open bolt, out of battery action,” meaning that the barrel of the weapon moves when firing rather than the bolt, cutting down on the recoil, he said.

Saving Private Ryan: M1919A4 light machine gun
Although the M1919A4 had a slower rate of fire and was less accurate than the M1917 models, the significantly lower weight made it an ideal crew-served infantry weapon.
It is the weapon used by Parker in the belltower, as well as by Private Mellish and Corporal Henderson.
The production crew used 8 M1919A4s for the movie.

The infantry blowed up! - Battlefront.com Discussion Area
See the thread called "crew-served weapon crews w/o small arms" for a bit more info on how these troops were armed and how they're represented in CM.
Because of that, they were unable to draw a weapon at the last second in order to at least take their attacker with them and, the high command would hope, blunt the attack.
It's like expecting a tank crew, after losing their tank, to be able to hop out and fight just as effectively as any other 4 or 5 standard infantry.

This crew served weapon, operated by 2 or 4 soldiers could be a light machine gun, a heavy machine gun, a mortar, or an anti-tank weapon team.
When supporting a crew served weapon, and being supported by a Squad Leader with a MG40 Sub-Machine Gun, 20 well aimed rounds a minute, is more than enough, each squad member needs, when operating the Mauser K98K, in combat.
The role of the basic German Army Squad Member was to protect, or support the crew served weapon team, so the crew served weapon team could safely do its job, during most combat operations.

 GDR 99 - Weapons Systems
Affordability of the OICW and its companion programme, the objective crew served weapon - a lightweight 25mm air-bursting system - will be addressed through flexible and novel manufacturing techniques, training simulators, insertion of micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS) technology, and joint service procurements to achieve an economy of scale.
I then moved on to lead the programme formulation of weapon, ammunition and fire control development programmes, including the objective individual combat weapon (OICW) and the objective crew served weapon (OCSW) programmes.
The objective individual combat weapon is that radical divergence.

Defense AT&L: From approved J & A to contract award in 16 weeks: an alpha contracting success story
In fiscal year 2003, the ACSW program successfully transitioned from the objective crew served weapon advanced technology demonstrator, the predecessor program on which the ACSW is based.
The ACSW system, slated to serve as the common close support weapon system for the unit of action (U of A), entered the system development and demonstration (SDD) acquisition phase as part of the U of A in December 2003.
ACSW's key capabilities include the successful technology demonstration of the 25mm air bursting munitions, warheads, recoil management, and fire control required to increase the lethality of the XM307 over the systems it is targeted to replace (the M2.50 caliber machine gun and the MK19 40mm grenade machine gun).

MILITARY FIREARMS -- M60 MACHINE GUN
The M60 fires standard NATO 7.62mm ammunition and is used as a general support crew-served weapon.
The weapon has an integral, folding bipod and can also be mounted on a folding tripod.
However, the reduction in weight resulted in firing limitations and a loss of reliability that severely restricts the use of the weapon in the Fleet Marine Force.

Nat' Academies Press, 2000 Assessment of the Office of Naval Research's Marine Corps Science and Technology Program (2000)
The goal of this program is to produce a lightweight, crew-served infantry weapon that can, in principle, replace the caliber-50 M2 heavy machine gun, the 40-mm MK-19 general-purpose machine gun, and the 7.62-mm M240 machine guns.
The weapon measures the velocity of each round as it proceeds down the barrel of the weapon and uses a laser range finder to determine the range to the target.
In addition, the weapon has a high potential to damage light and lightly armored vehicles at ranges beyond 1,000 meters.
