Crewe is a town in south Cheshire, in the north west of England.
Crewe did not come to prominence until the late 1830s, when the Grand Junction Railway (GJR) company chose it as the site for its locomotive works (known in the surrounding area simply as Crewe Works) and Crewe railway station.
Crewe has a fast growing population of workers from Poland who, with their families, have migrated to south Cheshire after Poland's accession to the European Community.

Pete Mouginis-Mark, who is now acting director of the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics and Planetology, has named the 17.4-mile wide crater that was discovered in September after the south London district.
Tooting, Mars, is of significance as it is one of the youngest large meteorite craters on Mars, so any probes that may eventually head to Tooting will find it easier to look beneath the top layers of sand.
