This is an idyllic spot, but tinged with drama as you are surrounded by the huge crags of CribGoch.
Hence the Bwlch is gained, and one can now choose to do CribGoch and down to Pen y Pass, returning via the road, or go on to Snowdon itself via Crib y Ddsygl.
At the well troden path at the foot of CribGoch's pinnacles, looking away from CribGoch, one heads to the front right of the summit knoll at this point, heading diagonally down under the ridge.

CribGoch is not for those who are scared of heights or those who suffer from trembling knees at the slightest of exposure.
CribGoch's ridge has been likened to a knife edge for many years and you will soon see why people make this terrifying comparison, the ridge is at times inches wide with exposure from huge drops to frighten even the bravest of souls.
After completing CribGoch and looking back at it from the summit you can appreciate that you have certainly conquered the most exciting route that's to be had on the massif.
This picture, taken from Lliwedd Bach across Llyn Llydaw, shows the true stature of this mountain with the pinnacles at the western end clearly in view.
No so obvious, the Pyg Track can be seen roughly half way up CribGoch and this is also a popular route to and from Snowdon's summit.
This is why a seconds expedition was launched, and dispite dreadful warnings in advance, still 13 people showed up on Saturday morning, ready to sacrifice their lifes for glory.
At the Llanberis pass, the expedition was strenghtened by two extra experienced fell walkers from London, who happened to be in the area.
From this point CribGoch runs almost horizontally towards Snowdon, and those who did not yet suffer from fear of height had plenty of opportunity to catch up.

This route forms part of the popular Snowdon Horseshoe and is accessed via the Pig track from the Youth Hostel at Pen y Pas.
This is less popular than the busy East Ridge and although there is less scrambling it is perhaps more similar in style to the actual traverse of CribGoch.
This is a short and relatively unknown route that offers a more adventurous way onto the North Ridge of CribGoch than the usual Pen-y-Pass approach.
