Crime Syndicate of America - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Crime Syndicate of America is a fictional team of supervillains from one of DC Comics' parallel universes, and are the evil counterparts of the Justice League of America.
This Crime Syndicate (with their name slightly respelled to "Crime Syndicate of Amerika") rule their world with an iron fist (a change from their pre-Crisis counterparts, who were unsuccessful in conquering their world); the modern Syndicate's motto is "Cui Bono?" ("Who profits?").
It is yet to be seen whether the Syndicate or the anti-matter universe have survived the events of the 2006 limited series Infinite Crisis.

Carey Estes Kefauver was chairman of the Special Committee on Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce, referred to as the "Kefauver Committee." He was a Democrat from Tennessee who had been elected to the House 1939-49, and would serve in the Senate 1949-63.
It was this syndicate that began as bootleggers and racketeers in the 1920's and expanded into the longshoremen and fish markets and other labor unions in the 1930s, then into casinos and real estate in the 1940s.
Over 70 local crime commissions were established in cities across America as public awareness of the danger of crime increased.

Crime Syndicate of Amerika Presents Legion of Justice -- 1 -- Luthor
In this last year The CSA has increased its number from 5 to 7, with such members as Barracuda, dreaded lord of the undersea and one of Earths most famous eco terrorist.
Currently The CSA is looking to increase its ranks by having even more members join them, till they reach 15 members.
But during his visit last year on the alternate Earth he dubbed Earth 2, while posing as that Earth's Lex Luthor, Alex Luthor copied that Luthor's files on that world's super villains, with the hope of meeting and gathering their Earth 1 counterparts, hoping that on his Earth they might be heroes.

Syndicate Rules is an 8-part story about the third conflict between the JLA – Justice League of America – and their evil doppelgangers, the Crime Syndicate of America.
Ruled by the CSA, it depends upon the Favour Bank; an unbreakable rule that anyone who gives you a favour must be repaid, no matter the cost.
The second part is that it was nice to see the JLA handed their heads for once, not managing to jail the villains as they normally do.

The Crime Syndicate of America originates on an alternate Earth, known as Earth-3, where history took some bizarre turns, England winning the War for Independence against the motherland, the United States, for one.
The Crime Syndicate came into conflict with the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America during their annual cross-over, a time when the heroes got together in a kind of family reunion that always seemed to lead to some kind of "crisis".
Knowing that his partners in the Crime Syndicate were growing bored for lack of any adequate challenge for their powers, he told them of his discovery and they began to plot to invade the two "neighboring" Earths.

JLA #108 Review - Silver Bullet Comics
As the Crime Syndicate rule their Earth with an iron fist, we see they have quickly become bored with the decided lack of any threats that they can lash out against, as a pacified planet equals an extremely dull planet.
However, when deep space scans reveal the presence of another civilization, the Crime Syndicate are off to subject another world to their attentions, and we soon discover this planet is the home of the Qward, who are a race of warriors/weapon builders whose entire society is based around the idea of war.
However, when the Crime Syndicate of America come back into the issue, the story picked up a great deal of steam, especially since the recent JLA/Avengers crossover had the group of villains doing battle with the Qward when Earth-3 was destroyed.

Luthor began calculations on the possibilities of recreating the prison made for the Crime Syndicate by the JLA of Earth-1.

If Earth 2 and the Crime Syndicate aren’t used anymore, then this story becomes kind of pointless and one of those things that you never see referred to in the regular series, like "DC vs. Marvel", as if it’s been erased from continuity altogether.
The JLA agrees to assist him in his plan to travel to Alexander’s world, assault the CSA and turn their world into a "good" one in a 48 hour period of time.
At first it seemed out of place that this villain would still be a villain in the CSA’s reality because everything is opposite, but near the end of the story he encounters the JLA and the manner of his mirrored-ness makes perfect, complete, creative sense.

Among my favorite groups is the venerable Justice Society of America, a group that first saw publication over 60 years ago.
They were the first team of heroes in the comics, and were the inspiration for the Justice League of America (which was simply a re-working of the super-team concept approximately 10 years after the abrupt hiatus of the JSA began in 1950).
