The discovery of the circular and linear polarization of AM Her by Santiago Tapia exactly 25 years ago had put into our knowledge the existence of unprecedentedly exotic binary systems, which exhibit numerous types of variability with characteristic times from seconds to decades.
We present highlights of the polarimetric (since 1989) and photometric (since 1978) monitoring of AM Her obtained in the Astronomical observatory of the Odessa University (1978-1982), the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory (1986-1988) and the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (since 1989).

Alexander V. The Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory was established by the October 1833 Decree of the Russian Emperor Nicholas I. The Observatory was constructed and equipped under supervision and directorship of its first director Academician Vasily Yakovlevich (actually, Friedrich Georg Wilhelm) Struve.
The scientific activities of the Observatory embrace six problems as follows: celestial mechanics and stellar dynamics; astrometry (dealing with geometrical and kinematical parameters of the Universe); the Sun and solar-terrestrial relations; physics and evolution of stars; radioastronomy; instrumentation and techniques for astronomical observations.
Struve and his successors brought to Pulkovo Observatory the world-wide fame which was exactly expressed by the title of “the astronomical capital of the world” given to the Pulkovo Observatory by an American astronomer Benjamin Gould as long as in the XIX century.

 Tunguska asteroids citations
Named in memory of Leonid Alekseevich Kulik (1883-1942), Soviet mineralogist, researcher of meteorites, and a founder of meteoric research in the U.S.S.R. He is particularly known for his investigation of the place and circumstances of the Tunguska event.
He is one of the leaders of the Toungouska's missions performed by the University of Tomsk to solve the question of the Toungouska's event which occurred in 1908, in Siberia, destroying more than 2.200 square kilometers.
He suggested searching for microparticles embedded in the resin of trees surviving the Tunguska explosion, and he partecipated in the 1991 expedition to collect the necessary wood samples, with the result that a group of elements was identified as possible constituents of the Tunguska body.

Here we report some preliminary results of colorimetric analysis of the flare star EV Lac based on the UBVRI data obtained during the yearly course of many-site synchronous monitoring and organized by the Terskol Observatory with the 2 m telescope contribution.
So far it was possible to estimate the color indices of pure flare radiation for strong enough flares nearly their brightness maximum.

During late March 1975, Tamara Mikhajlovna Smirnova (Institute for Theoretical Astronomy, Leningrad, USSR) was examining 60-minute exposures obtained at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, when an object was found on plates exposed on 1975 March 4.78 and March 16.84.
The object's appearance was virtually unchanged between the two photographic plates, with the magnitude estimated as 15-15.5 on the former date, and 15 on the latter, but it was not certain whether this was a comet or an asteroid.
It was photographed near aphelion by observers at Oak Ridge Observatory on 1979 September 17.15, at which time its total magnitude was given as 19.

"There are not so many witty people, they are always loved," leading staff member of the observatory Nikolai Chernykh told Interfax giving the reason for the choice of the name.
It has a diameter of 12 kilometers, makes one revolution every five years and is visible from the earth once every 15 months.
Chernykh said that the Crimean observatory is the only place in the former Soviet Union where minor planets are discovered.
