Crimethinc claims to not exist in a failed attempt at being both mysterious and poetic, we'll have to start by stating that it does exist, it has a few addresses, a number of books in print and an online shop as well as a number of websites.
Calling yourself a crimethincer allows you the illusion that you're a part of something much grander though, when you're a bored suburban teenager that's very important and the well designed publications and impassioned prose in their texts makes for a very inspiring read.
The lack of any critical analysis and focus on spontaneity are serious shortcomings for crimethinc which lead me to believe they do not believe in revolution and are quite possibly happy to be the kids living on the "edge" of Capitalism, a system whose excess supports their drop-out lifestyles anyway.

Institute for Anarchist Studies - Days of Crime and Nights of Horror
CrimethInc's book is a "cosmology" of radical criticism of contemporary US (and Western European) society that articulates a position of total rebellion toward everyday life.
CrimethInc implore us to live our lives on the edge, to roam, to discover life by engaging the subterranean springs and discover in the immediate present the revolution of everyday life.
Of course, it is unfair to compare CrimethInc's rag-tag collection of plagiarized ideas with Galeano's rich testimony to struggle and survival-but they brought it on themselves by inappropriately ripping off his title for their book.

Days of Crime and Nights of Horror
And in terms of CrimethInc, here is a place off the global map, a dérive from the usual, a place full of adventures and stories where books could write themselves and one could, in the Situationist sense, take their dreams for reality and really live.
CrimethInc feel the need to resurrect anarchism Òas a personal approach to life.Ó Here they are borrowing more than an idea, but a historical tendency that they are Òadjusting for their own purposes.Ó ÒAnarchism is the revolutionary idea that no one is more qualified than you are to decide what your life will be."
CrimethInc are not socialists and the question that remains is whether they are indeed anarchists, or merely libertines.

Rethinking Crimethinc. - International Anarchist movement - Anarkismo
Crimethinc was a shitty subcultural phase which most people I know saw for the hollow reactionary shite that it is fairly quickly.
I also consider Crimethinc to be a sort of naive young-activist's ideological pre-school but this is not inherently negative as long as it's adherents move on from there to look at the orignial sources first hand (as apparently the author of this article did).
Crimethinc also are an extreme example of the major negative tendency in the anglo anarchist movement.

Direct action is a healthy ethic to live by, but for all their ecstatic immediacy Crimethinc seems to honestly believe that liberation is a simple choice each individual gets to make.
In place of a vanguard that seeks to organize people to fight for power, Crimethinc admits only the possibility of avant-gardes, who through the beauty of their dance will somehow show the rest of us the way.
If the Situationist author Raoul Vanneigm was right that those who speak of revolution without mentioning everyday life "have a corpse in their mouth," then maybe its fair to say that those who equate revolution with the lifestyle choices of well-read drop-outs confuse making love with jerking off.

Once their new identities as radicals have crystallized, the roles they play in social upheavals are likely to be less and less dynamic: they can still fight, of course, perhaps with increasing expertise, but only from a fixed position.
We have learned to keep the radical community behind us, as it were, to draw ideas and inspiration from it while facing outward to the rest of the world.

More than that, however, we believe that Crimethinc has brought some very important ideas into the public discussion and has done a very good job of helping people connect with their own feelings and desires.

It could be argued that he is a bourgeois kid who thinks it's "cool" to be poor, and is enforcing the economic mentality of gaining leisure at the expense of others--in this case, corporations.
However, whether you beleive that or not, which I personally do not, Crimethinc reinforced their first effort's sky's-the-limit ideology in Days of War, Night of Love by presenting someone who has proved the idealistic goals set forth in the book are acheivable.
With that being said, and acknowledging this has been accomplished while not singling it out as the only form of self-liberation, I will not argue about what is wrong or right about his ideas: read and thorougly enjoy the book for what it is.
