Although Rawat's closest advisors and senior organizational officials were informed of Jagdeo's attacks over many years, Prem Rawat denied all knowledge of the issue prior to it being made public on the Internet.
That Prem Rawat's organizations should have facilitated the activities of a paedophile profoundly damaged confidence even in some of Rawat's most committed followers and the repercussions of the revelations have still to be fully appreciated within the organizations.
Critics of Rawat also complain, of his 'exclusive' meditation techniques, that they are available from hundreds of other teachers, and from books.

Particular irony attaches to Prem Rawat's disregard for the value of free speech in the light of the strenuous efforts he has made to have himself associated with the United Nations.
In 2005 Prem Rawat spoke to the privately run United Nations Association of Malaya - in subsequent media releases put out by The Prem Rawat Foundation this unofficial event was presented as having official standing and invoked the name of the UN Secretary General.

The second is my response to Prem Rawat's and Elan Vital's viscious backlash campaign to call us a hate-group.  So, my deep visceral reaction has been to say I'm not a member of a group.  Who wouldn't?
I did a bit of minor editing in the criticism article today and was essentially told not to bother because it's being drastically reduced.
