Prophets of the New World: Noam Chomsky, Murray Bookchin, Fredy Perlman--John Moore
Woodcock's criticisms provide a useful departure point for an examination of Chomsky's libertarianism, but they in turn are written from a rather orthodox anarchocommunist position.
Perhaps the most sustained critique of Chomsky's anarchism, and particularly of his introduction to Daniel Guerin's Anarchism, has been undertaken by George Woodcock.
In the first phase, anarchism remained nonpolitical because it advocated abstention from, and opposition to, electoral and State processes.

 Anarchism as Constitutionalism
The article is nearly a decade old, so I don’t know whether Bidinotto still stands by everything in it; but his criticisms of Market Anarchism are nonetheless worth addressing.
As Gustave de Molinari, the founder of Market Anarchism, wrote in his 1884 work Political Evolution and Revolution: “The future will bring neither the absorption of society by the state, as the communists and collectivists believe, nor the suppression of the state which is the dream of the [non-market] anarchists and nihilists.
In both Market Anarchism and limited government, then, the working of the system will involve different parties trying to enact their several conceptions of justice.

 Social Anarchism/No Authority But Oneself
Though Voltairine was not alone in her denunciation of the pernicious role of religion in oppressing women, most of the criticisms were not welcomed by more conventional feminists.
The State, she also believed, keeps women and men from having economic independence through its protection of monopoly capitalism and the subsequent detrimental effect on the ability to earn a living.
What is the role of religion in keeping women "in their place?" Are conventional religions inherently sexist?

 talk:anarcho-capitalism
That another group wants the term "anarchism" for themselves as a sort of trademark because of the reputation they've earned for themselves through the use of it (or for whatever other reason) should be on that group's article, because it is their POV and hence on-topic for their article.
Claims to any particular definition of anarchism which are presented here should be stated as claims, and should be indicated to be a particular definition of the word before or when it is used for the first time in the page.
Since part of the debate on these issues is related towards whether or not anarcho-capitalists can be seen in continuity with individualist anarchists, it's tendentious to identify anti-capitalist anarchism with "traditional" anarchism simpliciter.

Albert R. Parsons - Anarchist as Trade Unionist: By Dave Roediger
The Knights, whose egalitarianism and tendencies towards industrial unionism exempt them from many criticisms which The Alarm made of conservative craft unions, did draw fire for their failure to give support as a national organization to the May 1, 1886 strikes and for their later refusal to defend the Haymarket prisoners.
Indeed, it was in large part Parsons" commitment to aggressive trade unionism which ultimately led him away from the electoralism and reform politics of the Socialistic Labor Party and toward anarchism.
The chairman of the union's Executive Committee, S.A. Manion, stood by Parsons during the repression which followed the latter's militant speeches during the strike but Parsons nonetheless lost his Times job and fell victim to an effective blacklisting in Chicago printing shops.

Chuck Munson, "webmaster" (emperor) of infoshop.org, is engaged in increasingly heavy handed censorship of opposing anarchist view points on infoshop.org as shown by his censorship of criticisms of the arcticle Poor, White and Pissed.
Chuck's censorship contradicts infoshop.org's supposed commitment to ecumenical anarchism, of including all forms of anarchism and not promoting specific forms of anarchism over other forms.
Chuck has repeatedly claimed that "political correctness is a serious problem in activist circles" but he's never presented any real proof of it.

This is the second revised edition of Anarchism: Arguments For and Against and was the edition that Albert Meltzer was working on at the time of his death on May 7th, 1996.

 Proudhon, Pierre-Joseph
Until the beginning of the 1920s, Proudhon remained the most important single influence on French working-class radicalism, while in a more diffuse manner his ideas of decentralization and his criticisms of government had revived in the later 20th century, even though at times their origin was not recognized.
Proudhon was not the first to enunciate the doctrine that is now called anarchism; before he claimed it, it had already been sketched out by, among others, the English philosopher William Godwin in prose and his follower Percy Bysshe Shelley in verse.
Proudhon was born into poverty as the son of a feckless cooper and tavern keeper, and at the age of nine he worked as a cowherd in the Jura Mountains.
